Girls Say:

I love this song by No DOUBT.. Hey Baby, Hey Baby, Hey.. Girls Say, Girls Say.. Hey Baby, Hey Baby, Hey. But that's not our subject. Just a thought.

What girls really need to say is NO. Ahuh. Just two letters that will set all needed limits and create her space. NO to discrimination and social injustice. NO to attempts to bring her down. NO to those who want to lock her up at home to become a servant for the rest of her life. A big NO to the guys who think she's a Yo Yo air-headed thing. NO to anyone who doesn't take her seriously. NO to a culture that reduces her to a doll. NO to being viewed as a piece of flesh when needs to be covered. NO to having to deal with stupid ideas that see her either a saint or a whore. NO to having to live like her grandmother and grand-grandmother. NO to following a rules created by men to make her feel inferior. NO to getting married. NO to leave her studies. NO to quitting her job. NO to lowering her ceiling and discarding her dreams.

JUST SAY NO!

All the other NO's are ok. But why "NO to getting married"!?

Cause it hinders advancement in life and career in the absence of equality and women rights. The culture of the Egyptian man makes him demand a slave at home, not a human being who has ambitions and personal aspirations.

This is an inaccurate generalization. Not all marriages nor all husbands are like this.

first time on your blog
first let me say congratulations :-)i think your blog is different, first time to be directed only to females
i totally agree with u we shouldnt consent to all of what society tells us just because we r females.im with u No is just a simple word but it holds lots of meaning and it makes lots of sense to us.our arab society wants us to be sweet things,to not speak our mind because if we speak we will be different and will be daring and they dont wanna hear us talking and proving ourselves
no matter how they always ay tehy give women rights but at the end of the day we r just women made to please men that's what they say
i just wanted to wish u good luck with your blog and i hope im welcomed here
i will be visiting your blog more often:-)
best regards :-)

Dear agenda,
It will always be a pleasure to read your insightful comments here. Your words are so vital for this blog. We should join forces. Every girl on her own can achieve much already, but with the help and support of others who understand her and share his problems, she can go long way further. We need all the voices who are calling for freedom and justice. Therefore you are not just welcomed, you are an essential part of this blog. Please feel free to send your thoughts and tell the world that we are not passive. We want and we will make a change.
Only women can fight for their own liberation. We can't wait for men to give us our rights. They won't give up their superior position even in a million years. It is the oppressed that has to revolt and snatch her freedom from her oppressors.

I would really love to see any kind of positive change taking place. I am afraid that for every step forward we are taking two steps back. Our society just keeps going from bad to worse. Men want to sqeeze us all into a time machine that goes to the middle ages. Being aware of our rights and being willing to fight for them is the only hope to stop this from happening.

dear fantasia
me too belive me wanna see some kind of a radical positive change taking place.
i think when we join forces and have a certain goal and work in the same direction lots of positive things can happen
first like u said every woman should know her rights and dont ever give them up and she should fight for her right with whtever she has .i think through understanding something positive can happen.

I am ashamed to say that i used to try my best to be a guy's dream girl. Even if it meant being someone i am not. I am the type of girl that likes to speak her mind and say what i feel right away but unfortunately i haven't been true to myself lately. For some sick reason i was after his approval so much that i lost myself. I've just recently snapped out of this bad, disgusting habbit and reading this made me realize that it should have definetly been a NO NO from the start!
